How to Get a Daily Bible Verse Notification on Your iPhone
Most notifications ask something of you. A message wants a reply, an app wants a tap, a headline wants your alarm. After a while you stop reading them and just clear them.
A daily verse notification is built to be the exception — one line that shows up once, asks nothing back, and is just as easy to leave unread as to open.
Turning it on in Bible Clock
If you have Bible Clock installed, the daily verse notification is a single setting away.
- Open Bible Clock and go to Settings.
- Tap Daily Verse Notification and switch it on.
- Choose the time of day you'd like it to arrive — morning coffee, a lunch break, right before bed.
From then on, one verse arrives at that time each day, in your language, pulled from the same rotation that runs across the app's 84 hand-drawn faces.
What it isn't
It isn't a reminder to pray, read further, or check a box. There's no streak to keep, no red badge scolding you for skipping a day, no "you missed yesterday's verse" the next time you open the app. If you swipe it away without opening it, nothing is lost — the next one comes the next day regardless.
If notifications aren't your thing
Some people would rather not add one more alert to their day, however quiet it is. That's fair — a notification isn't the only way to meet a verse. Bible Clock's Lock Screen widget does something similar without ever interrupting you: the verse just sits there, waiting for the moments you already glance at your phone, rather than announcing itself.
