How to Put a Bible Verse on Your iPhone Lock Screen
You unlock your phone about a hundred times a day. That glance is the most repeated moment you have — and it can be a quiet one.
Here are three simple ways to let a verse meet you there, from the fastest to the most beautiful.
1. The quickest way: a Lock Screen widget
If you have Bible Clock installed, you can add its verse widget straight to your Lock Screen — no image editing, and the verse changes on its own.
- Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap Customize → Lock Screen.
- Tap the widget area below the clock and choose Bible Clock.
- Pick the rectangular verse widget. Done — a new line of Scripture greets you each day, in your language.
2. The most personal way: a verse wallpaper you set yourself
Bible Clock can render any of its 84 hand-drawn faces — a lamb, an olive branch, the seasons of the church year — as a still image with its verse, and save it to your photos. From there it becomes your wallpaper like any other picture.
- Open the face you love, tap the share icon, and save the image.
- In Settings → Wallpaper, choose it for your Lock Screen.
3. The most flexible way: any verse, any font
Prefer to choose the words yourself? Save a plain image with the verse you want and set it as wallpaper. It won't refresh on its own, but it will hold the one line you keep returning to.
One quiet note: you don't need to check it, memorize it, or do anything with it. It's not a task on your screen — it's a companion on it. Some mornings you'll read it slowly. Most days you'll just catch it in passing. Both are enough.
Want the verse to change on its own, on every screen you own? Bible Clock puts a daily verse on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch — one purchase, no subscription.
